Highbury was built by Joseph Chamberlain, industrialist, reforming Birmingham Mayor and controversial politician. It remained in the family residence until his death in 1914.
Chantry Road & Park Hill Residents Association has been active since 1965. It represents the residents of the two roads when considering Planning Applications for the immediate neighbourhood. Also, it organises a number of social events & sporting activities each year.
Co-Wheels Car Club Birmingham (Community Car Sharing Club)
Birmingham’s Co-Wheels Car Club launched in Moseley with two hybrid vehicles available to those that want an alternative to owning and using their own car.
The cars are located at 106 Alcester Road, Moseley near to the Prince of Wales pub.
Highbury Park is located on the borders between Moseley and Kings Heath. It comprises of the estate of Joseph Chamberlain – former Lord Mayor of the City. He left it to the people of Birmingham on his death. His residence, Highbury Hall is located on the northern edge of the Park.
Friends of Moseley Bog & Joy’s Wood Local Nature Reserve
Moseley Bog & Joys Wood was saved from development following a huge public campaign. It has become a nature reserve and supports a range of plants, animals and insects. Especially fascinating are the gnarled old trees, the displays of bluebells each spring, and the wildflower meadows in early summer.
It was once a childhood playground of The Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien
Moseley Arts Market runs along side Moseley Farmers’ Market on the fourth Saturday of the month. Stalls take place on Victoria Parade opposite the Farmers’ Market on the Village Green.
Moseley B13 is a monthly magazine covering local events and news from around the village of Moseley. This relaunched version of the original Birmingham 13 magazine (which started in 1973) – came out in June 2011.
Moseley Community Development Trust is an independent charity & company. It is a joint venture by both the Moseley Forum and the Moseley Society with help from the Moseley & District Churches Housing Association.
The Moseley C.D.T. is a community enterprise organisation. The aim is to lead the regeneration of the neighbourhood through social, economic and environmental projects.
The award-winning Moseley Farmers’ Market takes place at the crossroads in the centre of Moseley – on the Village Green. It takes place every last Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m.
Moseley Festival is an annual community festival of arts, culture and music taking place in our lively suburb.
It is run by a group of volunteers. The group provides advice and support for anyone who want to do something during the festival. It also organises publicity and some of the key events, such as the street fair.
Moseley Interfaith Group is a group drawn from the religious organisations of the area. the goal is to develop mutual knowledge and respect to withstand bigotry & prejudice.
For many years in Moseley, the Christian and Muslim communities have lived in parallel – as indeed have other faith groups.
Moseley Litterbusters was set up by residents in 2017 to tackle litter around Moseley, with a particular focus on the village. They currently meet weekly at 9am on Sunday mornings to clean up the village which is currently not covered by the Council’s street cleaning schedule.
Music group/band/orchestra for adults that play any musical instrument to any ability. Exploring a wide range of genres from pop to classical, jazz and more. They meet Tuesday’s 7.15pm – 8.45pm at The Moseley Exchange.
Moseley Park & Pool is a registered Charitable Trust and a hidden gem located in the heart of Moseley between the Alcester Road, Chantry Road, and Salisbury Road.
Moseley Park is unique as it’s been unaltered for a 100 years and it’s not ‘institutional’ like many public parks can be. The park consists of 11 acres of peaceful parkland, a beautiful lake packed with fish, and surrounded by trees.
Moseley Round Table is a social club aimed at men between the ages of 18 & 45 that: – provides a service to the community – provides charitable support & donations – has a whole lot of fun & fellowship
The Moseley Society is an Amenity Society as part of the Civic Trust and is registered as a charity. In recent decades Moseley has come under great pressure for further development, not always in keeping with the character of the area. The Moseley Society, a registered charity, was formed in 1979 in response.
