Moseley in Bloom is a community-led initiative to make Moseley a cleaner & greener place to live & work.
Launched in February 2005, when a small group of like-minded residents got together to enter Moseley for the Britain in Bloom campaign run by the Royal Horticultural Society. Moseley in Bloom is organised and run entirely by volunteers, and is based at the Moseley Community Development Trust. The Moseley Forum actively supports Moseley in Bloom with funding & resources. Moseley in Bloom is a registered charity and depends entirely on the support of local people and businesses to be able to enhance the environment of Moseley. Each summer they organise the popular Open Gardens Weekend.
Moseley in Bloom has been extremely successful from the start. In 2005, Moseley in Bloom received a Merit for the Neighbourhood Awards section of the Britain in Bloom Competition. This was followed up winning a R.H.S. Silver Gilt Award in both 2006 & 2007, also being placed as the Midlands Regional Winner 2007 to go forward to the National Britain in Bloom Campaign. Recently, the group was instrumental in Moseley winning Gold for an eighth time in the Heart of England in Bloom Awards for 2015, earning joint best in the Urban Communities category. In recognition of the standards achieved, Moseley has been nominated to go forward to the National in Bloom Campaign for 2016.
